It's On!

Going to see a game on Friday at Minute Maid. It is the first series of the year against the Cubs, so it should be a pretty exciting game. Especially since the Rocket is pitching versus Greg Maddux. I read online that it is the first time two 300 game winners have faced each other since 1987. That seemed hard to believe, but okay. I'm a little ticked that the Astros can't win on the road, but we'll see what happens. If last season taught us anything it's that we're not out until it's over. But do we really want to wait that long? Let's Get It Started!

Okay, no more bad sports clichés. I was wondering how many Astros fans we have out there. Raise your hand....Great. Now, I want to know, how many old Astros slogans can you remember? The only one that comes to my mind right now is "Astros baseball. Star Power!" I need some more. Come on, give as many as you can think of. They're all pretty cheesy, but I think that's what makes them so great.

Well, let's see...

2004 - "Root for the good guys."
2001 - "Everyone Loves to Play at Home."
1999 (last year in dome) - "A Year To Remember."

Jim Caple actually wrote a pretty funny article in 2001 reviewing the year's team slogans.

Here's another one from 2003 about fake slogans, such as this one: "Houston Astros: "H To The Izzo, Ouston To The Izzay.""

I'm not the 'Stro coniseaur (sp?) that some of you guys are. But what came to my mind on slogans was "Astro fever...Catch It!"
Now did I just make that up or is it really one??
