Dave, peace, and 26

"If we lived by an eye for an eye, all we'd be left with is a room full of blind men."

I couldn't find the source of this, but I think Gandhi said it. Dave Matthews quotes it in DMB's new album. Again I can't remember what song it's on. I could probably figure it all out if I felt like going out to my car to get the CD sleeve, but I'm in my underwear and about to go to sleep. Anyway, I really like and believe in that saying. BTW, Stand Up is really good. Very different, but I like it.

I turn 26 tomorrow so if you want to sing me "Happy Birthday" you may do so here. Can the "Happy Birthday" estate people sue for copywright infringement if you sing it over a blog?

Here's another Gandhi quote that I reallly like:

Gandhi was once asked what he thought about western civilization. His
response was: "I think it would be a good idea."

**NOTE** When I started this post I was 25, but during it I turned 26.

Hey, Kyle. Allow me to be the first to post to this blog today and say happy B-day. Yes, I am a closet blog reader. Haven't launched out to do my own yet, but I enjoy keeping up with some of you guys. Come see us in Abilene and my regards to your folks!...ICB

Happy birthday and here's a favorite quote of mine from Ghandi

"God is, even though the whole world deny him. Truth stands, even if there's no public support. It is self-sustained."

What is your schedule like the next few weeks? Deana and I were talking about having you two over.

Hey Kyle - met you this weekend in someone's backyard for someone's wedding I do believe - :-) - was the main speaker dude you or your brother? It was really well done.

Doesn't it feel old to be 26? Not that I know because I'm only 24...but I'll be 25 in a few months and it feels so weird to be smack dab in the middle of my mid-20's. Enjoy this year, because next year, you'll be in your "late-20's." Eeek!

Happy happy birthday, Kyle!

Thank you all. I guess this means that if you want responses just say it's your birthday.

Kent: That was my brother. I was the best man. Yes, I thought he did a good job as well

Kyle, my son. I remember May 18, 1979 very well. You were 3 weeks late! You liked it in there. And I was ready to have you out in the world with the rest of us. You were the only one that I got to deliver LaMaze style. You were also the only one that my actual doctor was in town to deliver. And you were the only one that was induced...due to being so late. So really you are so very, very special. We always knew that didn't we?
Happy Birthday! I love you so much.

Kyle, I hope 26 is definately one year more than 25 was. Happy Birthday man, and thanks for the comment on my blog. Check out the update, you are the Ying to my ideological Yang.

Have a happy birthday and what-not. Remember, always wear your party hat, even in public.
